Founded by Jacopo Janniello in 2009, CARAVANA’s pieces and accessories are handmade in Mexico by artisans honoring traditional techniques. Inspired by the Mayan aesthetic, each piece has its own purpose and meaning; revealing magical and mysterious wisdom of the Mayan culture.
From the treatment of feathers by shamans to the lines that follow ancient geometry, CARAVANA passionately honors the ageless knowledge of the Mayans whilst preserving its antique handcrafting techniques. Pioneering the free-spirited lifestyle, the pieces are versatile, perfect for day-to-evening resort wear and can be worn in multiple ways. Made from high quality, sensual natural fabric and soft leather which develops its own unique patina over time.
THE FOUNDER & CREATIVE DIRECTOR
A journey, which began in 2009 by Jacopo Janiello who by chance visited Tulum on a whim, fell in love with the Yucatan Peninsula and never looked back. For the past ten years, he has worked and lived in the Yucatan Peninsula steadily leading the path in preserving the ancestral art of the Mayan culture. Being that the Mayan artistry was near extinction, Jacopo and members of the CARAVANA family created training workshops to teach these techniques to both, men and women. The brand arose from Jacopo’s desire to reveal the beauty, magnetism and traditions of the Mayan culture. It’s also a tribute to the Mayan wisdom and the Mexican country. Most importantly CARAVANA is a celebration of the soul, the spirit and the individual. Tulum and its wild jungles, beaches and Mayan traditions, along with Jacopo’s passion are the heart of CARAVANA.
